Essays, moral and political were incorporated into Essays and treatises on several subjects (London, 1753-6) 4 vols. 12mo. In both the 1777 and 1788 edition of Essays and treatises on several subjects (Godwin owned the latter) Essay 15 would be ‘The Epicurean'; Essay 16 ‘The Stoic'; Essay 17 ‘The Platonist'; Essay 18 ‘The Sceptic'; and Essay 23 ‘Of the Standard of Taste.'
