NOTE: The Juvenile Library published Alicia Lefanu's poem Rosara's Chain in 1812, and WG writes to A Lefanu in 1811. This may provide some grounds to believe WG read her 1803 novel. (However, WG also visits a Mrs. Lefanu in 1800, who may be Mrs. H. Lefanu.) Since Lefanu's name is coupled with that of Lamb on 1808-10-03, and since Lamb is writing for the Juvenile Library at this time, we may wish to conjecture that WG is reading a piece submitted for the JL.
