Surrender of the absolutists in Lisbon to Count Villa Flor, later the Duke of Terceira. The constitutionalist cause, represented by Don Pedro and Dona Maria, had received British assistance, with Sir Charles Napier commanding an important naval victory at Cape St. Vincent on 5 July.
