Unidentified. Berry appears frequently 1809-12 with one further reference in 1826. Seven of these contacts are letters Godwin writes to him. These dates are too early for this Berry to be Alexander Berry, business partner of Edward Wollstonecraft.
A letter from Godwin to John Fairley, 28 July 1809, states that he has come to an arrangement with Mr Berry, currently in London, for the distribution of their books north of the Tweed - something that Fairley had been trying to set up. Berry calls on Godwin shortly before this letter was sent. It seems likely that Berry was a bookseller or agent for booksellers in Scotland. The bunching of the calls in most years to the months of June and July suggest that he is in London only intermittently and is based elsewhere.
