Identification is tentative. James Bichero (d. 1831)produced a number of tracts and essays on a variety of subjects, from A Friendly Adress to the Jews(1787); The Sign of the Times, or the overthrow of the Papal tyranny in France, the Prelude to the Destruction of Popery and Despotism, in two parts(1792-4) etc. His son, James Ebenezer Bicheno (1785–1851), became a lawyer in the Middle Temple and subsequently a colonial official and he wrote Observations on the philosophy of criminal jusrisprudence(1819) citing Godwin, p, 94. Godwin meets '2 Bichenos' on 8 January 1806 at Johnson's. Johnson is listed as selling Bichenos's second edition of Signs of the Times, published in 1807. It is possible that Godwin's entry refers to both men.
