Godwin notes the death of Mrs Brooke on 23 January 1789. She has not been identified. There are a considerable number of unidentified Brooke entries from 1795 to 1835, and involving both single Brooke and plural 'Brookes'. It is possible that these entries encompass members of the Brooks family - Samuel, a glass cutter and diamond setter working in the strand and a supporter of the London Corresponding Society and Horne Tooke; and his son Henry, who was secretary to the Westminster Committee in 1807 and 1811; and his son James William Brooks, who was also a radical and a glass cutter. However, there is nothing to corroborate the identification. Entries cluster in 1809, 1815 and 1832. In 1832 Brooke is systematically linked to artist circles around Martin.
