Lord Craven is noted in the 1796 list for 1804, and 'Lord Craven' is noted on 27 February 1804 when Godwin is out of town visiting the South East coast, with this being followed by a series of letters, mainly from Godwin to Craven. On 12 December 1807 Louisa Brunton, whom Godwin had met in 1796, married William Craven, first earl of Craven (1770–1825), and left the stage.
