Miss Hitchener corresponded with Shelley and was then induced to join him and Harriet at Lynmouth, where relations developed in an unsatisfactory way. She left the Shelleys only on being allowed £100 per annum. She was with them from July to November 1812. All the contacts with Godwin are during this period.
