author of A Summary of the Duties of Citizenship for which Daniel Isaac Eaton was tried for sedition in 1795. (It is possible that Dep b. 227.7-15 is to Iliff. Godwin is flattered that he is asking for advicce about writing, possible with a view to writing a novel. At the end of the letter he says he knows nothing of the Duties of Citizenship and has not yet had the leisure to look it out. The letter is dated February 27, 1796). Godwin meets him twice each year of 1794, 1795, 1796 and once in 1800 and 1801. The 1800 meeting is in Birmingham. The meetings in 1796 are prior to Godwin's letter, so there is a gap of at least four years following that.
