The British Book Trade Index states that John Morgan operated from various premises (39 Ludgate Hill. 9 Bell Sauvage Yd. 2 Fleet Mkt) 1781 - 1816. He traded as John Morgan 1783-1811 and John Morgan and Sons 1812-16. He was possibly succeeded by Morgan and Bros 1817-19 and John Minter Morgan 1820-30.

In fact, the entries for Morgan, Stationer, etc are all after the death of John Morgan, so probably concern his son John Minter Morgan. It is possible that earlier entries in the 1790s, up to 1807, might be to John Morgan, but none of these are currently coded as such.
