The 1800 entries are during Godwin’s trip to Ireland and therefore the attribution seems probable. There is also some correspondence in 1803. Equally the 1806 entries imply that Trotter is in London and indeed it was during this year that he served as private secretary to Charles James Fox. In 1818, he is calling on Longman for Trotter and writing to Trotter. It is possible he was negotiating on his behalf for a new edition of Walks through Ireland, published in 1819 by Sir R Phillips.
