Godwin meets Frances Wright in 1827, in the company of Robert Dale Owen, with whom she had returned to Europe after establishing 'Nashoba' a utopian community in America. She returned to America in 1828. There is surviving correspondence between her and Mary Shelley, together with the letter she wrote to Godwin inviting him to come to see her so that she could tell him of the project based on the principles of Political Justice, and his the day after apologising for not having done justice to the ambitions of the scheme.
