  • Name: Louisa, Brunton (Louisa Craven, countess of Craven)
  • Gender: Female
  • Death Date: 27  August  1860
  • Occupation: actress

Louisa Brunton was the daughter of John Brunton, manager of the Theatre Royal in Norwich, and she became an actress on the London stage. She seems very young to be meeting Godwin, but the references are quite unambiguous. There are three such references during a trip to Norwich in 1796 when she would have been between 14 and 17 years of age. The references begin with a meeting with 'Louisa Brunton' at dinner with Robert Merry (whose wife, also an actress, was Louisa Brunton's elder sister Anne). The following day there is a rather coy reference to Louisa having come with him to visit a church, and on the third day there is a reference to Miss Brunton.

Louisa made her debut on the stage in 1803 (her sister having done so at the age of fifteen) and in 1807 she married Lord Craven.
