Pickersgill ndertakes a portrait of Godwin in 1830

The artist Henry William Pickersgill (1782–1875) appears thirty eight times from 1830 – 1833. He was known for his sober and accurate portraiture, and painted many eminent figures including Herschel, Bentham, and Wordsworth (DNB). Godwin sat for a portrait with him, which accounts for a majority of the ‘Pickersgil’ calls and meetings. All have been coded appropriately, no further changes are necessary.

We should note that there is also a John Pickersgill, Henry's brother, mentioned in the DNB entry for Richard Bentley and employed in Bentley's publishing firm from 1832. But the entries do not suggest Godwin meets him. Also coded in 1832 and 1833 are four entries for Pickergil - on the assumption that the loss of the 's' is either an error or a shorthand. The circles seem the same.
