Cousin of Amelia Alderson, brother of Robert Woodhouse (1773–1827) and son of Robert Woodhouse (?-?) a Norwich draper. See the entry for Robert Woodhouse (senr). He accompanied George Cadogan Morgan and others on a trip to France in 1789. Opie painted his portrait, and he became Advocate General in Bombay. Memorials of the life of Amelia Opie refers to his death (before 1827) while attempting to restore his fortunes in India. Spelling of Ollyet/Olyett varies!
